Imaz Athar

Imaz Athar is a senior undergraduate student at the University of Pittsburgh, double majoring in Neuroscience and Sociology. He aspires to become a physician and plans on attending medical school in Fall 2017. Imaz fell in love with the art of writing at a young age and is currently the Publisher of Pitt's undergraduate-run science magazine The Pitt Pulse. When he's not writing or keeping up with classes, Imaz enjoys running, playing basketball, watching Empire, singing (in the shower), and listening to all kinds of music.

Studying for the MCAT…as told by Drake

  If you’re reading this, it’s too late. You’ve either already taken the MCAT, or you’re probably taking it some time soon. In either case, studying for the MCAT is an unforgettable experience, and I’m just crazy enough to relive it. There’s a Drake song for everything, meaning that there has to be a Drake song for every stage – both good and bad – of the MCAT studying experience. So, here it is: Reliving the MCAT experience…through the words of Drake.   STAGE 1: Realizing that the MCAT is upon you, “Shot for Me” It’s Friday night, and you’re in your friend’s apartment. Excitement, chatter, and red solo cups fill the living room. “Started from the bottom, now we’re here,” the speakers blare. “Started from the bottom…” “Now the whole team HERE!” your friend yells in unison with Drake. He had just finished the MCAT, and you’re all celebrating with him. He’s being a weirdo, but it’s okay. It’s kinda funny, and he deserves to let loose. “Yo, take a shot with me!” he says in your general direction. “Alright, let’s do this,” you say with a laugh.  “YEAH!
